LONDON, UK - His Majesty the King and Inkhosikati LaMbikiza touched down safely and welcomed by a somewhat chilly London weather at Gatwick Airport yesterday.
As guests to King Charles III’s Coronation, the King is expected to join other leaders of Commonwealth States for a discussion on the Commonwealth Heads of State and governments’ declaration of 2023 as a year of the youth. Inkhosikati LaMbikiza is also expected to participate in a spouses’ event, where a discussion will be held on cervical cancer.
Part of the tentative programme includes a welcome reception at Buckingham Palace as well as bilateral talks on the sidelines of the welcome reception. Today is the big day at Westminster Abbey, which will also see the crowning of wife to King Charles III, Camilla, as queen.
More than 20 000 people are anticipated to attend the event, with media reports capturing the build-up to the day reporting of mega-royal fans setting up tents along the route to be used by King Charles III today.
His Majesty King Mswati III is also expected to meet with the Commonwealth Secretary General, Patricia Scotland, prior to his return to Eswatini.
