SA’S OSCAR MBO PARTS WAYS WITH LOCAL MANAGER

By Khetsiwe Khumalo | 2022-09-26

SOUTH African DJ Oscar Mbo has parted ways with his local booking manager, Yolisa Nkosi.

The South African house music producer in a statement released on Wednesday revealed that Nkosi had been allegedly taking bookings and fraudulently adding her personal banking details to the invoice, instead of the company details.

“It has come to my attention that Nkosi has been also, using my name or brand without my knowledge or consent,” reads part of the statement.

Oscar Mbo also known as a podcaster, disk jockey and record producer said he had opened a case with his local law enforcement office and due steps would be taken. “We are working tirelessly to ensure that the money for these gigs is returned to the promoters as we unfortunately cannot attend them as there are other gigs that have been confirmed that clash with them,” said the DJ

He further revealed that he was currently under new management, requesting that event organisers and other enquiries go through it.

He further added that they were not aware how many people had been affected by this situation, pleading with all the promoters who had booked them for this upcoming season to contact his new manager to verify the legitimacy of pending bookings.

“For those that have been defrauded please contact us and we will share the case number with you to stay up to date with the developments,” the statement reads.

The DJ thanked his fans for the  constant support over the years. He also shared that he was grateful for what his team had been able to do for him adding that he would forever be indebted to them.

Oscar Mbo has garced countless number of stages in the country in the company of Nkosi.
He has played at Solani’s Shisanyama, House Music Festival, Bofecela Album Launch and many other events. Efforts to get a comment from Nkosi proved futile as she had not responded on the matter at the time this publication went for print.
