PASTOR SIKHUMBUZO SHOOTS WIFE 3 TIMES

By Sifiso Dlamini | 2021-08-23

Manzini- ALL Nations Christian Church in Zion Pastor Sikhumbuzo Shongwe yesterday shot his estranged wife, Jabulile Nkonyane three times after a verbal altercation at Tisuka Flats in Moneni.

It was a tragic scene after the well-known man of God opened fire at his wife and one of her relatives following a disagreement.

The dramatic scene took place at Shongwe's place of residence at Moneni. His wife Jabu, who he has been entangled in a bitter court dispute with Shongwe, is battling for her life at Manzini Clinic where she was rushedto after the ordeal. Her brother who had accompanied her to the scene was admitted at RFM Hospital with a gunshot wound on the arm.

Shongwe, when speaking to one of our reporters confirmed the incident yesterday, claiming it was in self-defence after Jabu came with his brothers to attack him.

Even though it was not ascertained the reasons why LaNkonyane and her brothers visited Shongwe, it is suspected that it was in relation to the Sunday Observer article where it is claimed a court order was issued against Zweli Tsabedze to stop seeing Jabu.

In the court interdict, Shongwe accused Tsabedze of seeing or having a relationship with his estranged wife.

Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Phindile Vilakati confirmed the incident. She mentioned that the police were still investigating the matter and no arrests have been made yet.

Bishop Nash Shongwe also mentioned that he was aware of the matter. He said he found out about the incident when he came back from church. He stated that he was also perplexed and at a loss for words.

"I am aware of the matter and am still trying to locate him," he said. Information gathered at the scene was that Nkonyane who was accompanied by her alleged relatives went to the house to get some work documents and they had a disagreement with Shongwe which resulted into the shooting.

Those present at the scene stated that they were worried about Shongwe's state.

Earlier when contacted by this publication, he declined to comment on the matter and instructed this reporter to rush to the scene. Attempts to contact him later proved futile as his mobile phone was unavailable.
