NEW SPRINTER FOR NSINGIZINI HOTSPURS

By Sibusiso Masilela | 2021-07-30

SOCCER - NEW kids on the block Nsingizini Hotspurs have been handed a major boost upon their maiden season in the MTN National First Division.

The Shiselweni based outfit has received a new Mercedes Sprinter from Siphambanweni Milling in the midst of the novel coronavirus pandemic in the country.

The luxurious bus will be used to transport players to training and matches. The Terisayi Changara-led side has joined two capital city giants Mbabane Swallows, Mbabane Highlanders and NFD compatriots Vovovo FC in the list of clubs that owns Sprinters in the country.

Siphambanweni Milling Chief Operations Officer Howard Zungu said the sponsorship was in line with their social corporate responsibility.

He clarified that the sprinter belonged to the company but would be utilised by the team as and when the need arises hence the reason why it had been branded with their colours.

Zungu stated that they found it prudent to allow the team to use the Public Service Vehicle (PSV) because it was based within the same periphery with their core business premises.

“Siphambanweni Milling, a company based at Siphambanweni in the Shiselweni Region, in line with our core values, which incorporate empowerment of the communities where we work in, has powered Nsingizini Hotspurs Football Club with the services of our new Mercedes Sprinter.

Purchased

The Mercedes Sprinter had been recently purchased by the company to transport employees to and from meetings, trainings, team building exercises and any other events that would require travelling in a large group,” he said.

Zungu further stated that they were committed to improving football in the country and the lives of Emaswati.

“However, as part of our social responsibility drive, which is deeply rooted in ensuring that the community derives massive benefit from the business, which operates in their home area, we have found it appropriate to assist the community by providing transport services, as and when it may be required.”

As a 100 per cent Eswatini owned company, we remain committed to ensuring that we help improve the lives of our fellow brothers and sisters for the better while also aligning with the goal of mutating the kingdom into a first world country.

“As a company, we are committed to continue helping in the development of sports in the country,” Zungu said.

The green and white ensemble is currently perched at position nine with 22 points in the NFD log standings.
