RIVALRY REIGNITED AS SEA BIRDS FACE OFF WITH TINYOSI

By Colisile Sacolo | 2021-04-14

SOCCER - RIVALRY will be reignited when Tinyosi and Manzini Sea Birds clash at Mavuso Sport Centre tomorrow. The teams last met while they were still campaigning in the National First Division League.

Sea Birds were first to get promotion to the elite league while Tinyosi were promoted in the 2020/21 season.

Tinyosi have never lost against Manzini Sea Birds. Tinyosi Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Thobile Dlamini said they were ready for the match. “We will take this match like any other game. We want positive results.”

He said they were looking to get the maximum points. “We last played against Manzini Sea Birds while we were still in the National First Division and we are looking forward to the match. We are more than ready as we have been preparing for this game. We will do our best to get the three points,” she said. She said they had never lost to Sea Birds.

“Our concern now is that our opponents have a lot of experience, having played in the elite league for a number of years.

However, it is not only about experience, but how you have prepared for the game.” Dlamini said two of their players in goalkeeper Sisekelo Maseko and defender Thando Gule were injured during their match against Mbabane Highlanders, but was hoping they would recover in time for tomorrow’s match.

“The players are doing light training and we will get update from the team doctor if they will be ready for the match.

“I am happy with the spirit in the team. The players are all looking forward to the match as we are expecting positive results.”

Tinyosi are occupying position seven on the log table while Manzini Sea Bird are fourth.
