Soccer - Tambankulu Callies have made one of the biggest signings of the new season in utility defender Colani ‘Tyson’ Magagula.
The former Mbabane Swallows player penned a one-year deal with the sugar belt side yesterday morning.
The player was unveiled by the club’s Managing Director Sithembiso ‘Ngudze’ Mamba at their offices in Tambankulu.
Mamba said they were happy to have signed a player of Magagula’s calibre. “We would like to welcome Magagula to the team and we strongly believe that he will help us compete effectively this season as we will be competing in the MTN Premier League,” he said. Magagula is the fourth Callies signing after Ayanda ‘Good boy’ Gamedze, Prince Ampong and Ndumiso Shiba.
The 2019/20SMVAF Ingwenyama Cup semi-finalists recently enlisted the services of Zimbabwean coach Tavaka Gumbo who was with Pigg’s Peak Black Swallows towards the end of last season. Callies will begin their campaign in the top flight football with a date against Tambuti FC in the first Lubombo derby of the season at Mayaluka Stadium next weekend.
