LUJU FEST POSTPONED TO 2021

THE annual Standard Bank Luju Food and Lifestyle Festival has been postponed to 2021.

This was confirmed by House On Fire Communication Assistant Simon Dawson yesterday. Dawson said they were committed to prioritising the safety and security of their beloved home, the Kingdom of Eswatini, their festival guests, and their staff members.

“The success and growth of the festival in the last two years has inspired an all-new, exciting development – the Luju fest will now be a two-day event,” he said.

Luju fest fans can expect a double serving of yet another wholesome feast of local and regional food demonstrations, fashion showcases, cultural celebrations and feel-good music to sway to. With a focus on sustainability projects, the festival will continue to support local and regional development and encourage enriching conversations around food, fashion and lifestyle.

“We are excited to see your creative interpretations of the festival’s theme; ‘A Return to the African Future’ at next year’s event.

Expect to, once again, flaunt your best African-inspired vintage fashion and unique style. With over a year to plan your outfit, we are anticipating the most fashionable edition of Luju to date,” he said.

A new date for the festival is yet to be finalised and will be announced in due course. The Standard Bank Luju Food and Lifestyle Festival is a unique celebration of the tastes, sounds, sights and aromas of Eswatini and the Southern African region.

The festival is a sensory experience unlike any other. Set on the lavish lawns of the House on Fire Sculpture Garden, against a breath taking backdrop of endless cane fields and rolling hills, Luju showcases the diverse and often hidden flavours tucked away in the cultural crevices of Africa.

The festival also celebrates the dynamic textures, striking prints and vivid colours that the continent has to offer.

Our carefully curated and authentically African programme features cooking demos and masterclasses by seasoned chefs in the region, high-end African fashion, arts and design, as well as some exciting music performances by artists from Eswatini, South Africa, Mozambique and beyond.
