MASTER P PLEASED WITH LIVE SHOW

By Phetsile Mamba | 2020-07-07

MASTER P is proud of his successful live stream shows.

The DJ said the show started off slow, but it was now gaining momentum with people watching and interacting every day. “The response has been amazing, people's comments are encouraging and the number of subscribers grows weekly, which is a great thing,” Master P said.

He further shared that he believed the shows have helped retain not just his supporters, but also keep hip-hop music lovers happy.

He said since people cannot go out to watch them play, he decided to provide visuals, so that at least they can see them behind the decks as opposed to just listening to their mixes. “More than anything, it has taught me that nothing is impossible, you can do whatever you want as long as you put your mind to it.

I do not fancy video recording equipment but I am able to put out something for people to watch. I have also learnt to use video editing software, which I had never thought I would. As far as the impact brought by the pandemic is concerned, I take each day as it comes.

I am grateful for the support system that I have,” he said. The DJ decided to team up with other local hip-hop DJs to broaden their viewership.

“The first DJ I hosted was Maya LeMuso, a very talented young hip-hop spinner, then it was, Supa CDQ, who is no stranger to the hip-hop world as he has made his presence felt.

I plan on hosting more DJs on the show, though we still have a challenge in the country when it comes to the number of hip-hop DJs; we need to have more,” he added.
