COMMONWEALTH SG SCOTLAND ARRIVES

COMMONWEALTH Secretary General Patricia Scotland yesterday landed at the King Mswati III International Airport.

The secretary general will be in the country for a four-day official visit. This is her first visit to the Kingdom of Eswatini.

she was welcomed by Eswatini High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Christian Nkhambule.

Scotland was accompanied by Deputy Head of Secretary General’s Office Senyo Agbohlah, Political Advisor (African Region) Governance and Peace Directorate Linford Andrews and Communications Officer Temitope Kalejaiye.

She will be His Majesty the King’s special guest during the official state opening of the second session of the 11th Parliament on Friday.

During her visit, she will also meet the King and cabinet to discuss commonwealth priorities including preparations for the forthcoming Commonwealth heads of government meeting to be held on June 20, 2020 in Kigali, Rwanda.

Cabinet ministers who are lined-up to meet with the Commonwealth Secretary General are the Prime Minister Ambrose Mandvulo Dlamini, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Thuli Dladla, Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs Moses Vilakati, Minister of Education and Training Lady Howard-Mabuza and the Minister of Health Lizzie Nkosi.

Others are Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Harries Madze Bulunga, Minister of Public Service Christian Ntshangase, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Pholile Shakantu and University of Eswatini Vice Chancellor Professor Justice Thwala.

Scotland will depart on Saturday at King Mswati III International Airport.
