PASTOR’S DAUGHTERS DESTROY CHURCH EQUIPMENT

By Sifiso Nhlabatsi | 2020-01-28

THREE teenage girls were arrested for vandalising church equipment after an argument with the pastor, who happens to be their father.

The three were arrested by Mafutseni police and made a court appearance before Magistrate Nelsiwe Hlophe at the Manzini Magistrate’s Court.

Evidence of church equipment that was allegedly destroyed by the three was brought before the court.

Another evidence which was brought before court was in the form of still pictures of the items damaged by the three. The accused, through their lawyers did not take kindly to the evidence which was in the form of pictures.

They stated that they would suffer prejudice if they accept evidence they claimed was brought before the court through the backdoor.

After some time of arguing about the pictures, the Crown eventually agreed that the matter be postponed to another date so that it could formally file the evidence presented in court in the form of pictures.

The matter is expected back in court on April 3, 2020. The gist of the matter, according to court papers is that the three, who were in the company of other community members allegedly vandalised equipment belonging to their father’s church.

It is alleged that the three were not happy about an alleged relationship that their pastor father had with one of his congregants.

Some of the equipment that was allegedly vandalised by the three during their rampage include a keyboard player, guitar, drums set, speakers and an amplifier.
