MONENI PIRATES OPEN TO DO BUSINESS FOR RIGHT PRICE

By Jongile Xuba | 2019-11-20

SOCCER - MONENI Pirates are open to doing business for the right price during the upcoming transfer window.

This was revealed by Moneni Pirates Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mlungisi ‘Puma’ Simelane, who said if the right offers come and the player was interested in changing teams, they would be willing to do business.

Ideally, he said they would like to hold onto a bulk of their players as they were working on rebuilding the team.

“As a club we are currently in a crucial phase of rebuilding the team and have been progressing well thus far. We understand that with the recent form of some of our players, they may attract interest of other clubs.

We are willing to negotiate when and only if the right offer comes as well if the player expresses a desire to leave,” he said.

Asked if there were any players who would leave the team in January, the PRO said no official offers had been submitted yet and he could not comment on any transfer rumours.

Players

Simelane was referring to recent news linking their first choice shot-stopper Romanus Igidimba with a possible shock switch back to his former club Manzini Wanderers.

He reiterated that all was well within the camp with both the players and technical bench working in unison.

Asked on whether Moneni would be looking to boost their ranks, Simelane said as things stood the team was complete and did not need any additional players.

“We will not be signing new players as things stand because the coach has not indicated that he needs any new players yet.

There is nothing wrong with the current team, so barring any extreme circumstances we are not buying,” he said. Moneni Pirates are currently fourth on the MTN Premier League log with just three games until the end of the first round. They have 20 points and will be looking to finish the in the top half of the table when the league resumes.
