PALMA WANTS OUT OF WESLIANS

By Melusi Mlotsa | 2019-11-12

SOCCER – HUB giants Manzini Wanderers are set to lose yet another player in central defender Mandla Palma.

Palma could be the second player to leave the maroon and white side within a space of a week after it was reported that left-back Sanele Mkhweli parted ways with the club.

Information gathered from a reliable source revealed that Palma told the Management Committee (MC) that he wanted to leave the club after they failed to pay him his owed monies.

The source mentioned that the MC told him to write a formal letter and that they were ready to release him.

“Palma also wants to leave the club due to owed monies. The MC told him that he must tender his resignation letter in writing and they are ready to let him go.”

The source said the situation was not well at the club as a number of players were owed their moneys.

Promised

“Despite giving the players half of their salaries for last month, there were other players who were owed money promised to them when they joined the team,” said the source.

The player refused to comment when contacted yesterday. He said he was not aware of the matter.

“I don’t know what you are talking about,” he said, before hanging up the phone.

Manzini Wanderers Chief Executive Officer Sandile ‘Ntofo’ Dlamini said he did not have any comment with regards to the matter.

The former Mbabane Swallows strong defender joined the hub giants at the beginning of the new season after being out of action for the 2018/19 season due to an ankle injury.

Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if team boss Mehluli Nhlengetfwa is still in charge.

This comes after the South Africa businessman failed to pay the players’ October salaries.
