SOCCER – Mbabane Swallows head coach Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe has declared war on Manzini Wanderers ahead of their MTN Premier League clash at Somhlolo National Stadium tomorrow.
The seasoned gaffer was speaking during the pre -match press conference held at Sigwaca House yesterday.
Hlophe said they had learnt a lot from the last match against the ‘Weslians’ and would be aiming for revenge following the recent 0-1 loss to Wanderers during the Charity Cup last weekend.
“Everybody knows we lost last week because we didn’t know much about the team at the time. That loss will help us fight for a win in next game after fixing our mistakes as we now know what to expect from Wanderers,” he said.
The coach further said they will have a couple of new players in the team during the match and asked fans to show their support by filling up the stadium.
“We will have new players that will be playing but we cannot divulge who they are just yet. Fans can look forward to a great game so we encourage them to show up,’ he said.
Wanderers assistant coach Sindiso Gama said they would be up for the challenge despite having injury woes.
Recovering
“Some of our players are recovering from injuries and these Laurent Abbah, Mancoba ‘Spider’ Maseko and Phila Dlamini to name a few. We are looking to do our best and get positive results in what will be a tough game given that we have won two games in succession against them,” he said.
Gama added it would be a true test of his team’s mental toughness and that the bad publicity surrounding the head coach did not hurt the team’s preparations.
Swallows are expected to parade their new signing in South African winger Siphamandla Dhlamini against the ‘Weslians’.
