SOCCER – SEA Birds coach Anthony Mdluli says the month-long break for the Premier League of Eswatini will give teams enough time top repare for a good fight in the remaining games.
He said they wanted to improve their position on the log table.
The break is due to the fact that there will be Ingwenyama Cup final on Sunday. Sihlangu will also be playing in the AFCON Qualifier against Tunisia with EswatiniBank Cup quarterfianls also taking place before the league resumes.
Mdluli said there would be no rest for his team during the break as they would undergo normal training. “We don’t have time to rest.
I expect my players to attend training like we are preparing for a cup final,” he said.
Mdluli, the former Sihlangu caretaker coach, said his team would be targeting top eight positions in the MTN Premier League of Eswatini.
The coach has changed the fortunes of the team as his side is currently in position six in the MTN log table with 25 points in 20 games.
There are six games to go before the MTN curtain finally falls down.
Royal Leopard, Green Mamba, Mbabane Highlanders, Young Buffaloes and Mbabane Swallows are all vying for the MTN crown.
At the bottom of the log, Mbabane Citizens, Vovovo, Matsapha, Tambuti, Moneni Pirates, Manzini Sundowns and Manzini Wanderers are fighting to survive relegation.
