TWO gospel kings are set to host their debut crossover show.
Reverend Elias Shongwe of Shongwe and Khuphuka Saved Group together with Timothy Myeni of Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors, have launched a gospel crossover festival dubbed ‘Ameni Phela. Ku Strong’ which will be held at Big-Bend on December 31.
According to the festival’s Promotions Manager Comfort Shongwe, this event was intended to accommodate gospel fanatics in the remote areas of Eswatini.
“Crossover festivals are always hosted in the cities, or towns. It is because of this that Shongwe and Myeni saw the need of placing this big event in Big-Bend.
“We are also aware that the crime rate in Big-Bend compared to the cities is very low, so people won’t have to worry themselves regarding safety and crime,” said Shongwe.
Shongwe said the event would be the first of its kind as the musical giants would perform together for the first time and that people should expect the best. He mentioned that there will be a number of artists who will be performing at the crossover.
These artists include Sipho ‘Big Fish’ Makhabane, Phathwakahle, Ncandweni Christ Ambassorders , Shongwe and Khuphuka Saved Group, Glory of the Last Days , Nduduzo Matse , France Dlamini , Police Gospel Messengers , Gcina Masuku, Bishop Maculuve , Zaga Dlamini , Nonhle Mtsetfwa , Ndawonye and Khayalethu Masuku. Shongwe mentioned that this show was not be your regular gospel crossover as Shongwe and Khuphuka Saved Group would perform for 45 minutes and all other acts would perform for thirty minutes. Speaking to this publication, Timothy Myeni said Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors would for the first time in history, perform a song with Shongwe and Kuphuka.
The event will be held at Mayaluka Stadium from 2pm until the following morning; January 1. Tickets are going for E50.
