SOCCER – STRUGGLING MTN National First Division side Hub Sundowns have since sacked their coach Mlamuli ‘Sputla’ Zwane.
The former Premier League outfit is said to have ended their ‘marriage’ with the experienced mentor last Friday, following their 0-1 loss to neighbours Milling Hotspurs at the Mavuso Sports Centre.
Zwane joined the 2005 Swazi Bank Cup champions at the beginning of the season where he replaced Malian coach Alou Badara, who is now in charge of Tambuti FC.
Hub Sundowns Chairman Steve Horton confirmed the developments when contacted yesterday.
“We have parted ways amicably with the head coach due to a string of poor results. We are now looking for a new coach, who will help change the team’s fortunes. We will announce our new coach as soon as we conclude our recruitment exercise,” he said.
Reliable sources have revealed that former Manzini Sundowns development coach Friday Myeni is leading the race to replace Zwane.
Sundowns are having it tough in the on-going campaign as they are languishing at position 10 with only eight points in the log standings.
