SOCCER – SOUTH African football legend Mark ‘Feeesh’ Fish was in the country this past weekend for the launch of the Mark Fish/Mswane Football Foundation initiative.
This was during an event held at Ludzeludze, on Saturday, which is hometown to Mandla Mswane. Taking onto popular social media site Twitter, the 44-year-old former Orlando Pirates star said he was happy to be playing a part in developing not just the football skills of young Emaswati, but also to also impart life-skills. “I am very proud to have been at Eswatini this weekend and to be with talented youngsters, who are passionate about soccer. I can’t wait to share my knowledge and skills and to see them become the best version of whatever they will be willing to work hard and become,” he said.

When addressing the media during the press-conference held at Emfuleni Lifestyle, Mandla Mswane said they were grateful to partner with Fish because he was a person the youngsters look up to. “For a player to become professional, the talent alone is not enough. They need someone to share their story and inspire them to be disciplined. He is the one person who has been at the highest level, and who is better than me to inspire the lads,” he said. The first ever Liswati to climb Mountain Everest Sibusiso Vilane will be the mentor to the boys and will help give direction.
