MTN BUSHFIRE FESTIVAL
Held annually for three days over the last weekend of May, this increasingly popular festival features music, poetry and theatre among other performances. It takes place at House on Fire in Malkerns. Usually there are artists from other countries so it is a big and most famous Eswati ni festival.
LUJU FESTIVAL
First ever Luju festival was launched this year. It is said it will be held annually around August. The festival brings the best cooking demos, master classes, interactive spaces and the best in local designs and arts as well exciting musical performance. Local and international chefs and food experts from South Africa and Mozambique and beyond came. These master chefs share their insights into the diverse and often hidden styles of the African infused food and drinks.
SMOOTH FEST
First National Bank (FNB) Smooth Festival is back and this year, the digital bank is going bigger and better as per their motto. They will be giving a much bigger platform to local artists to perform at the FNB Smooth Fest scheduled for November 24, at Riders Ranch in Sidvokodvo. It is an annual event happening around this time of the year.
BEER FEST
Swazi Craft Beer Festival is on the cutting edge of the industry taking root in a brand new country. That brand new country might be the tiny Kingdom of Eswatini, but the arrival of craft beer promises big things.
Hosted at the Malandela's Complex by Eswatini’s first craft brewery, Thunderbolt Craft Brewery, The Eswatini Craft Beer Festival is a celebration of beer in all of its forms.
They have live music, great food, fair trade craft, a wide selection of international beers (in this context South Africa is also international) as well as local craft beer, of course, lawn comes a children's play area, competitions and more. Usually the entry is free.
Focusing on the smooth fest that’s happening next week on the 24th of November.
This year FNB has announced that locals Zamo, Symphony, Qibho Intalektual and Sands will have an opportunity to perform on the same stage with South African Afro soul singer Lira, Freshly Ground, Jonas Gwangwa and Mahotela Queens. Our country is experiencing an increase in activity from the creative economy.
More and more young people are choosing self-employment and creative freedom versus climbing corporate or political ladders. This diversifying of employment opportunities is fully understandable and supported by the corporate sector, and specifically FNB (First National Bank). Local artists from all genres have even a greater opportunity to sell their craft and build their brands during this festival, and as FNB they have supported this evolution and are happy to encourage local counterparts in the private sector to support these investments in the arts.
Stars such as Sands, Bholoja, Velemseni, Judah and Co, Floewe and Nomalungelo will perform.
These hosting of local artists is what ‘helping’ means our own grow; we must give them the platform at such events always. So that they can leave a mark even to those international artists that Swatis are also talented.
The team of FNB always come together and make sure the festival outweighed the previous year’s one.
Chances to be part of the classy FNB Smooth Fest VVIP section are now no more as not only the VVIP but also the VIP tickets are sold out with only the gold ones left, which is the general.
Do get yourself one of the tickets left because you will find yourself seeing part of the festive on the social media instead of being part of it. These year, FNB smooth fest created a rapid ticket sales, an indication that the Smooth fest brand has built a loyal fan base over the years which is also indicated by the impressive sales on the Platinum (previously VIP) and Gold (previously general) packages.
