MDUDUZI CHALLENGES PLS SUSPENSION

By Sibusiso Masilela | 2017-09-13

SOCCER – AFTER all that has been said and done, estranged Mbabane Highlanders supporter Mduduzi Dlamini has come out to challenge his suspension from local football activities. This comes after Dlamini was suspended following the ongoing Charity Cup saga where he is alleged to have insulted Premier League of Swaziland Chairman Victor Gamedze three weeks ago at the So-mhlolo National Stadium. The Mbabane based businessman disputed his much talked about suspension and further denies having had a meeting with the team’s board of directors before his suspension that came after the misconduct allegations laid against him. Dlamini relayed his side through a letter which is in possession of the Mbabane Highlanders secretary. This newspaper is also in possession of the said letter. “I have discovered with shock a letter dated September 9, 2017 addressed to the PLS with allegations against myself. The content of the aforesaid letter are disputed and are a pure fabrication of the truth. “I have not at any moment held a meeting and / or discussion regarding the complaint levelled against myself, pertaining the allegations of misconduct and unsporting behaviour. I do hereby record with emphasis that there is no meeting that was held with the directors of Mbabane Highlanders FC and myself where there was a resolution that I do not attend certain football games,” reads part of the letter. Dlamini has further challenged the Highlanders board of directors to prove that a meeting with him did take place. “If indeed the meeting ever took place I kindly request to be furnished with a resolution of the directors and the names of the directors in attendance, together with the minutes thereof. I further request my response, if any, after not to attend games with effect from the September 10, 2017. “To further substantiate my point, I duly attended the games at Somhlolo National Stadium on September 10 without any qualms whatsoever,” Dlamini further declared his love for Mbabane Highlanders. “Kindly be informed that I am a born supporter of Mbabane Highlanders and as such I have developed love of soccer games thus I cannot easily adhere to informal sanctions banning me from football unless the proper structures put in place sanction such.” Dlamini further tendered his resignation as the member of the Highlanders supporters Disciplinary Committee where he was elected four months ago.
