VIOLENCE IS NOT THE SOLUTION – NYANGA

By Sibusiso Masilela | 2018-10-23

SOCCER – AFTER all the pressure he has been subjected to, Manzini Wanderers head coach Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe has appealed to the team’s supporters to refrain from violence.

Hlophe, who was whisked away in a police car after their 3-1 loss to Tambuti over the weekend, has since appealed for harmony from the entire ‘Weslians’ ahead of tonight’s hub derby against Manzini Sundowns at the Mavuso Sports Centre.

“We all need to calm down in football and further try and understand that results cannot always go your way. I am pleading to our supporters to be calm and learn to support the team even in difficult times. Violence doesn’t solve anything but instead it brings unnecessary problems to the team,” he said.

The former Sihlangu assistant coach further stated they were geared up for the hub derby against the ‘Kappa boys’. “We are ready for the match as we are still preparing. We have rectified the mistakes we committed in the previous match.”

Meanwhile, Sundowns coach Charles Manda said they were ready to face their bitter rivals.

“We are looking forward to our match against Wanderers and we have put our previous results behind us. We will do our level best to make our supporters happy tomorrow (tonight) and we are quite aware what this derby means.”
