ESWATINI Fashion week has been launched.

The fashion industry in on the rise  as Eswatini Fashion Week (EFW) was on Friday at Palm Tree guest house, Manzini successfully launched.

Aiming to establish a marketing platform for local designers and fashion enthusiasts on a national scale, the fashion week will also be a platform that seeks to join forces with reputable designers and other fashion and arts stakeholders to improve the fashion industry within the kingdom.

The Eswatini Fashion Week also seeks to build a solid foundation for the fashion industry by empowering local designers through the provision of a nationwide platform to showcase their products and inspire future entrepreneurs in the fashion industry.

Speaking at the launch, the PRO of the Eswatini Fashion Week Nkhosinathi Dlamini said the EFW would take place every six months, marking the transition of seasons between winter and summer.

“It is intended to celebrate local designers by showcasing their various designs specific to each season, allowing them an opportunity to advance their talents in return of an increase in the local fashion standards allowing contribution to the growth of the Eswatini arts and culture industry in line with the national agenda of first world status by 2022,” Dlamini said.

“We have partnered with the Hive, who has generously provided us with their venue to host the show. We have also partnered with the Palm Tree Guest house who has been kind enough to provide us with their facilities as a base to plan and prepare for the event,” he added.

EFW has been fortunate enough to be graced with the endorsement of the Eswatini National Council for Arts and Culture, which is the highest level of acknowledgement one can receive within our kingdom.

“ Amongst our many sponsors we have Sam’s Studios helping us with photography for the models, House of Décor, young ink and  Tau Media House to name a few.

We have selected 25 models for the show, a mix of new comers and internationally experienced, and we are very excited by the talent,” Dlamini revealed.
