SOCCER – Speedy forward Mfanfikile ‘Fash’ Ndzimandze has parted ways with Mbabane Highlanders and joined hub giants Manzini Wanderers.
Ndzimandze, who signed for Highlanders upon his return from SA National First Division side Mbombela United, barely kicked a ball for the former as he was put on ice for disciplinary issues.
The player is expected to make his debut for the maroon and white ensemble when they face Royal Leopard in an MTN League encounter billed for the King Sobhuza II Stadium tomorrow afternoon. The team has also signed Hhohho Super League side PMT midfielder Njabulo Magongo.
Wanderers CEO Pat Mahlalela confirmed the developments when sought for comment yesterday.
He, however, noted that they were still working around the clock to beat the registration deadline, which has been extended to Monday by the Eswatini Football Association (EFA).
“I can confirm that we have signed the player but we are still finalising a few logistics with his registration. We all know that he was registered with a South African team, hence we need to get a few documents, including the international transfer certificate (ITC) so that we are able to register him. I would like to thank Highlanders though for the hassle free deliberations and their Head of Secretariat Mphumelelo Mnisi who was of great assistance.
The same goes to Mbombela United General Manager Pat Mabuza who also assisted us in the whole exercise,” he added.
Mahlalela said they were confident that the striker would add value to the team and also close the gap left by Nigerian striker Kola Aladeon.
“Our supporters had appealed that we get them a striker like ‘Fash’ and we have delivered.
It is a coincidence that we lost a number seven and have replaced him with a number seven. We appeal for cooperation from the Wanderers family in taking the team forward,” he said.
