‘PROFESSOR’ RETURNS AHEAD OF MBABANE DERBY

By Sibusiso Masilela | 2018-09-12

SOCCER-MBABANE Highlanders  head coach Mlungisi ‘Professor’ Ngubane has rejoined the team after spending two weeks away in his native country South Africa.

The ex-Lamontvile Golden Arrows mentor is said to have  ironed out his differences with the team which nearly ended his ‘marriage’ with the capital city giants after alleging interference within the club’s Management Committee (MC).

Ngubane resumed his duties yesterday afternoon where he started drilling the team in preparation for the MTN Premier League derby against rivals Mbabane Swallows at the Somhlolo National Stadium on Sunday.

A source close to the matter said the coach would rejoin the team before the end of the week.

“The coach is coming back with the team and will start training the players following his fruitful talks with the directors, who have thrown full weight behind him,” the source said.  Highlanders Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mpumelelo Mnisi also confirmed the matter when reached for comment yesterday.

“It is true our coach is back in the country and is already drilling the team in preparations of our first league match on Sunday,” he said.

The ‘Black Bull’ will also welcome their South African striker Thabiso Mokenkaone, who missed the Eswatini Telecom Charity finals due his recent trials with Maltan side Zletjun Corinthians.
