THE 50th edition of the Eswatini International Trade fair (EITF) is only two weeks away.
The Minister of Commerce Industry and Trade Jabulani Mabuza announced the dates during the Trade Fair launch.
The International Trade Fair is preceded by regional fairs held in the four regions of the country, with the Hhohho region being the first to host exhibitions.
The Killarney Sports Ground in Pigg’s Peak had over 6 000 people crammed to partake in the first ever Hhohho regional trade fair exhibition.
The regional trade fairs also touched the Shiselweni region where a total of 19 exhibitors showcased their products and services.
The exhibition had11 corporate entities and eight SMEs, with a number of vendors that were stationed outside the main exhibition marquee.
The regional trade shows were meant to provide a platform for exhibitors to promote their products and services in the regions and at the same time provide valuable opportunities for networking with existing and potential clients, not just in the regions but across the whole country.
spaces
Having completed the country’s regional trade fairs, local businesses are filling up spaces for the upcoming EITF.
The Mavuso trade and Exhibition centre will once again be a hive of activity as businesses set up stalls to attract customers on their product offering and services.
This year’s EITF will be hosted under the theme ‘50 years of connecting traders’ as announced by the cinister of commerce industry and trade earlier this year when launching the 50th version of the Eswatini Trade Fair.
The minister during the launch said the government is working on promoting business in the country and has placed emphasis on expanding external trade relations so that goods produced locally have access to markets regionally and globally.
According to Mabuza, the country currently has arrangements with Europe, South America, USA and Australia.
The EITF is a platform that brings together buyers and sellers from all over to interact and exchange goods and services.
Businesses have been encouraged to register early as there has been a shortage of space in the past.
