RETURNING to radio after the release of his latest single, Sands opened up on Eswatini Broadcasting and Information Services (EBIS).
The multi-award winning afro soul singer was a guest on the show
'Rhythm of the Kingdom of Eswatini,' hosted by Lindelwa 'Lindz' Mafa on Tuesday afternoon.
The singer got candid as per questions posed by Lindz and even went to as far as putting to rest rumours of his sexuality. Sands is back doing radio tours after the release of his hottest single 'Emawoza,' which dropped last Friday and has been enjoying constant airplay ever since. The singer started off by expressing gratitude to the people of his home town Nhlangano after the overwhelming response he received over the weekend as he was performing for the first time in his home town.
He later got candid and disclosed a number of details, including his
achievement of finally owning a company that does not only serve
him but other artists and endeavours. "It has always been in my plans to have my own company that has a team running the daily errands whilst I pursue my music career because I cannot do everything at the same time,” he said. Sands refuted claims that there was bad blood between him and his former band mate Qibho, who is a poet and rapper. Lindz was inquisitive enough to pose the question on the singer’s sexuality: "I do not like controversy but I will ask the question based on the rumours, are you gay?" she asked. "I am not gay and I do not want to involve my private life in my professional space because then there will be problems but no, I am not gay," Sands responded. He also laughed off claims that a South African openly queer man and personality had bought him a house in Sandton. Coming to the hottest news currently, the release of 'Emawoza' which is a dance and sing along to song, Sands said it was time to dance, no more weeping as goes some of the lyrics of the song.
The single is available on online music sale platforms iTunes, Google Play, Deezer and Amazon Music.
