CHARITY CUP FINALS TO BE PLAYED UNDER OLD FORMAT

SOCCER- The finals of the 2018 Eswatini Telecom Charity cup will be once again  be played under the classic format at the Somhlolo National Stadium on August 5.

The nation is set to be treated to another triple header dose as the first match will be played at 9am and it will be followed by the second semi-final two hours. 

 The final will end proceedings at 4pm during the main day of the annual soccer spectacular.

This was revealed by the tournament’s Public Relations Officer (PRO)  Lington Gule during the tournament’s play-offs held at the Mavuso Sports Centre yesterday.

“The games went well today without any violence in the stadium.

The finals  will be played on the 5th of august  in the classic format, with the first game being played at 9am, followed by the next one at 11am. The final match of the day will be played at 4pm. Entrance fee   and other logistics of the finals will be announced on Tuesday,” he said.

Meanwhile, Eswatini Posts and Telecom Managing Director Petros Dlamini said Telecommunications charity had been the biggest winner on the day.

“Congratulations to the teams that participated and to the winners Young Buffaloes. I feel charity was the biggest winner on the day based on the attendance,” he said.

Also making remarks was the Minister of Sports, Culture and youth affairs David’Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala, who heaped praises for the standard of the pla-offs.

 “We watched some good games today and it is encouraging for the upcoming games .I would like to thank Eswatini Telecom for hosting a great batch of games,” he said.

The main day will feature the country’s  big three teams  in Mbabane Swallows, Mbabane Highlanders, Manzini Wanderers and yesterday’s winners Young Buffaloes.
