THE annual Swazi Rally plays its part in boosting the economy of Eswatini.
On Tuesday Swazi Rally Founder Carlos Paiva revealed that the event pumps in over E30 Million to the economy of the country through tourism.
The Rally has been known to draw throngs of internationals into the country who book at most accommodation facilities closer to the venue, Riders Ranch in Sdvokodvo.
Paiva shared these details at the launch of this year’s rally which is expected to take off from August 31 to September 2, this year’s rally will be celebrating its Silver Jubilee and thus more tourists are anticipated to flock into the country.
As they will be celebrating 25 years of burning rubber, adrenaline rush rides and music, this year’s event promises to be bigger than ever.
Paiva noted and appreciated the support from the nation for the momentum the rally has gained over the years.
Sponsorship
Most importantly he said the Swazi Rally wouldn’t be the same without WesBank sponsorship, “We are grateful to WesBank for sponsoring us yet again
. This is our third year of partnership and we hope WesBank will not tire of sponsoring the event as they have made a massive difference and impact to the tourism of the country through this event.”
This large biking event attracts bikers from South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho and Mozambique who cram the entire site for a weekend of fun, networking and tourism.
Support
Swatini Arts and Music Associations (SWAMA) Melusi ‘Zox’ Dlamini also made remarks saying that this event has been great support to the arts in the country as the nation’s country musicians Dusty and Stones were raised at this very event and now they have been acknowledged all over the world and that can be attributed to Riders Ranch and Swazi Rally as well.
