SIBAYA: WEDNESDAY NOT A HOLIDAY - PERCY

By Lungelo Nkambule and Mhlengi Magongo | 2018-06-19

TOMORROW is a normal working day.

While His Majesty King Mswati III has summoned the entire nation to Ludzidzini Cattle byre on the day, employers will still be expecting employees to report for work because it is a normal working day.

Since the announcement that His Majesty had summoned the nation to the cattle byre on the day, questions have been arising if the day would be a holiday.

Government Spokesperson Percy Simelane when reached for comment said this wasn’t the first Sibaya and there was no record of Sibaya holidays in the country’s history therefore tomorrow was a normal working day.

"We have no record of Sibaya holidays and we have no reason to think this year's Sibaya will be treated differently and accorded a holiday status," he said.

His Majesty has summoned the nation to Ludzidzini Cattle Byre tomorrow. Making the announcement on Sunday acting Ludzidzini Governor Lusendvo Fakudze said the nation must converge at 11am at the Royal Residence tomorrow.

Fakudze said the ministry of home affairs as per normal would provide transport for all people from all corners of the country so that they can attend the Sibaya without fail.
