Well, well, well. There are some creative and inventive souls who let imagination do the works for them and there are chancers who are whiling away time as it were.
Rising hip hop star Nkamba Nkamba, real name Mlondi Mngomezulu, belongs to the former without a doubt.
Nkamba Nkamba released his Cheated Love EP last year, extending his reach by signing under Lush Africa, which is now handles and directs his affairs as the artist ascends the hip hop music ladder.
He defined the Lush Africa deal as the big break he needed to take his music to the next level. To demonstrate his powerful reach through signing under Lush Africa, Nkamba Nkamba performed at the Africa Fashion Arts Festival in Malawi. This was after being invited by an individual known as Lorraine, responsible for organising the festival.
Now his talent would be taking him to the small screen (TV) where he would be appearing in a show titled Sijayiva sinome kanjani.
Last week in Manzini, he captivated the audience with his skills and will be taking them through his journey of rap once again this weekend opposite The George Hotel.
Nkamba Nkamba described the invasion into SADC countries as a welcome experience in his of musical journey in the hip hop genre.
The Lush Africa venture, he noted, has given him wings to fly and the exposure he needed.
“This will ensure that my music is not confined only to South Africa or locally but to the whole of SADC region and beyond. This is because Lush Africa is owned by an influential person in the name of Lorraine who is responsible for organising the Africa Fashion Arts Festival,” Nkamba Nkamba said.
Lush Africa Fashion Arts festival is focused on putting out fashion as art itself within the SADC countries and beyond. Lush Africa is committed to promoting arts through bringing artists together from different parts of the African continent.
“My performance in Malawi is evidence that more good things are coming my way after being signed up by Lush Africa.
I am beyond words to describing how I fell about this development. It evidently signals a new dawn in my career and my fans should just watch me this year as we travel countries within the African continent and beyond,” he said.
This year, he will also host a series of shows at his home area of Makholweni located in Fairview North in Manzini to further promote his music.
“On the side, we will be having promotional events with Lush Africa in countries beyond the borders of Swaziland as my music is all encompassing so I must not confine myself to local shores,” he further said. Whilst in Malawi, Nkamba Nkamba got a chance to record a song with a Malawian artist Popskal. The song is a dance track titled ‘Black Rain’ which he says speaks about travelling into Malawi and the country is.

He has also been to Mozambique where he had an interview with Gungu TV which played his music video for the song ‘Cheated love’.
Together with opera singer Zweli Msibi, they will be working on three tracks; Ngeke Baze Bangkhone, ‘Where I am from’ and ‘Jesus peace’.
“Me and crew were in Jozini (SA) recently where were doing clips in certain locations for the upcoming works. We’ve also finished the editing and mastering of the album so we’re presently working on a few touch-ups to ensure everything is on point.
“Otherwise work is proceeding smoothly and we are certain the full album will be out soon,” he says.
Nkamba says they decided to have the video alongside the CD for fans to get something unique and interesting from him.
He hopes by mid-year the full album would have hit the store shelves.
Overall he is proud of his works and the collaboration with Zweli, oh! boy he just can’t stop singing his praises.
“That guy is talented and definitely going places with his craft you know. It was an honour and a privilege to work with him”. Evidently Nkamba ascribes to the saying that if you’re keen on taking a walk go at it alone but if undertaking a journey, then you need company for you to reach far so that the hurdles, trials and tribulations are easily overcome
Asked to give insight on the title track Cheated love, he notes that nowadays faithfulness in most relationships is a foreign element.
He wants that to be brought back in relationships as he argues that trust is the core of any union, especially the matrimonial one.
Nkamba Nkamba says he wants to remain in the music industry for as long as his creative juices emit something of interest to both friends and foes alike.
Indeed his is not scaling virgin land as some have undertaken a journey in the past so why should he be afraid?
We’ve got the likes of Illa Pennboy and KrTC who have both represented the genre flawlessly and effortlessly over the years so it’s welcome and soothing news that another hip hop head has joined them.
He assures the nation they won’t regret supporting him as he attests they’ve applied themselves with his team on the upcoming production.

He is an artist with an ambition to make music for the people as he portrays life situations that people face every day in this life, for example, family matters, love situation, club bangers and so on.
The name Nkamba Nkamba was prophesied to him by his late grandfather Ephraem Mthende Simelane from Kwashoba, Pongola.
Nkamba Nkamba was born in an extended Christian family and raised by a single parent. A natural born hustler, he discovered his talent and potential in rap through the Usual Suspects who got him into the game with well-known producer Sabelo Sub Jamz Sthungo, a hair dresser and fashion enthusiast as well as Manager of Cava.
