SOCCER - FREE State Stars coach Luc Eymael is unimpressed with the attitude of former Mbabane Swallows and Manzini Wanderers striker Mohammed Anas.
According to South Africa’s online publication KickOff, the Ghanaian has slipped out of favour of late in Bethlehem, having last played in the victory on penalties over Ubuntu Cape Town in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals in March.
The player missed subsequent league games with Kaizer Chiefs and Golden Arrows, and was on the bench in the 1-1 derby stalemate with Bloemfontein Celtic at Goble Park two weeks back.
He also did not feature in their NedBank Cup encounter against Kaizer Chiefs where they won the match 2-0.
“I am not happy with his attitude at training and also the many chances I’ve given him,” Eymael said when asked about Anas's absence by KickOff.
“Training is not good enough for me and also when he’s on the pitch he’s not always taking his chances,” he added of the former Maritzburg United hitman, who has scored six goals and provided two assists in 22 games in all competitions this season.
Meanwhile, Eymael, who started his PSL tenure with Polokwane City last term, recorded his first win over Chiefs when his side beat Amakhosi in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday night.
The sides played to a 1-1 draw in November, with Chiefs winning the return league tie 1-0 earlier this month at home.
Eymael felt the Glamour Boys were lucky to come away with the points in their previous meeting.
“I don’t know, only God knows.
In the first round here [in Durban] we played very well.
There were opportunities and we were very unlucky.
“In the previous game we didn’t deserve to lose. We were very good but it’s like that.”
Mohammed joined Free State Stars from Maritzburg United.
