WANDERERS KOLA OFF TO TANZANIA FOR TRIALS

By Sibongiseni Zondi | 2018-04-24

SOCCER - MANZINI Wanderers striker Kola Aledeon left the country yesterday for a one week assessment with Tanzanian side Young Africans.

Young Africans are the side played for by former Mbabane Swallows anchorman Papy Tshishimbi.

Aledeon played in Wanderers’ 2-all draw against Red Lions in the MTN Premier League on Sunday at King Sobhuza Stadium.

The forward assisted in one of the goals as his shot deflected off Red Lions defender Siphamandla Nhlabatsi and hit the net.

Yesterday, at his request, the Nigerian born forward left the country for Tanzania where he will be assessed and return on the weekend.

blessings

Wanderers CEO Pat Mahlalela confirmed the news and said the striker had left with the club’s blessings.

“He approached us and asked to go there and we saw it fit to allow him to go  because refusing would have left us with an unhappy player and these opportunities come once.

The important thing is that he will be back this weekend and will be able to prepare with the team for the SwaziBank Cup final (on May 6),” Mahlalela said.

The Wanderers CEO added that seeing Aledeon being wanted by top East African sides would hopefully motivate the rest of their squad.

“We also hope that this will motivate the rest of our players to work even harder and also allay the supporters’ fears that we wanted to sell Kola to our local rivals. It is also important to stress that all the costs relating to this assessment have been taken care of by the Tanzanian side,” Mahlalela said. Mahlalela also confirmed that, because of his trial, Aledeon would miss Wanderers’ penultimate MTN Premier League match against Midas City this coming weekend.
