SWAMA, ACASWA APPLAUD NACAS

By Ayanda Dlamini | 2018-03-20

THE two major music and arts associations; SWAMA and ACASWA, have applauded their mother body for the National Arts and Culture Awards.

Both associations are affiliates of the Swaziland National Council of Arts and Culture (SNCAC).

Both associations; Swaziland Arts and Music Association (SWAMA) and Association of Christian Artists in Swaziland (ACASWA), said they were delighted with the NACAs eventual nominees and the 46 categories which were revealed on Friday at Happy Valley, Ezulwini.

“The categories are very balanced and the good part is that the shining stars in the cultural space will also be rewarded,” said SWAMA President Melusi ‘Zox’ Dlamini.

Dlamini also congratulated the nominees; “we would like to congratulate all creatives who made the nominees list at the NACAs.

Their work is being noticed and will be rewarded. We wish them all the best. We respect the committee in place and partners and we wish them all the best,” he added.  On the other hand , ACASWA PRO Ronnie Dlamini said they were pleased as a gospel association that their artists were nominated in the upcoming awards. “We are very happy that this time around, our artists are also nominated. They must represent us well,” Dlamini said. He also encouraged those who did not make it to the nominees list not to give up but continue working hard as they would stand a chance to be nominated on the next edition of the NACAs.

“To those who were not nominated, your time is coming. Let us support each other and vote for the nominated artists,” said the ACASWA PRO.

ACASWA is an association entrusted with the well-being of gospel musicians in the country whilst SWAMA is a mother body of all music and art genres.
