SOCCER - HHOHHO Super League side Zibonele Vultures will strike it rich if they beat Matsapha United in the SwaziBank Cup last 16 tomorrow.
The minnows shocked Red Lions in the last 32 over a week ago, beating the Premier League side 2-1 to advance to the last 16. Vultures, who are now the only Super League side left in the competition, were drawn with last season’s runners-up Matsapha in Monday’s last 16 draw.
By virtue of being the only Super League side remaining in the competition, Vultures will pocket E15 000 for the best finisher prize from the Super League.
If Vultures beat Matsapha and reach the quarterfinals, they will be guaranteed a further E25 000 which will be given to all four sides who reach this stage, but don’t go beyond the quarterfinal stage. That will take Vultures’ total prize money to E40 000. Meanwhile, Tambankulu Callies and Sikhalo Se-Africa will fight it out for the E15 000 Best Finisher Prize from the National First Division (NFD). The two are the only remaining NFD sides in the SwaziBank Cup. Callies will play defending champions Young Buffaloes in the last 16 tomorrow while Sikhalo face Manzini Sundowns on the same day.
