Senate President Gelane Zwane’s husband Michael ‘Mike’ Zwane’s body was cremated on Tuesday.
The family of the deceased, including his wife Gelane, assembled at the Mbabane Burial on Tuesday for a memorial service that kicked off just after 11am.
It has been reliably gathered that after the memorial, the deceased’s body was then ferried to DUPS Holdings in Manzini for cremation.
“After the memorial service, Zwane’s body was taken to Manzini for cremation at DUPS Holdings and I am not sure what happened next,” said a source at Mbabane Burial.
An employee at DUPS also confirmed the arrival and cremation of Zwane’s body on Tuesday.
“Michael’s body did arrive on Tuesday and he was successfully cremated,” said the employee.
Zwane succumbed to death last week after battling a long illness that got him in and out of hospital.
This reporter attended the memorial service but was involved in an altercation with some of the family members after taking pictures of the arrival of the senate president at the venue of the memorial.
He was subsequntly told to leave as he was not welcome after being ordered to delete pictures.
