SOCCER - Mbabane Swallows is already setting trends on the Vision 2022 aspiration as they have been inducted into Pro Evolution Soccer for the PlayStation 4 game known as PES PS4 2017.
The MTN Premier League champions are among top clubs in the world pinned for selection in the software and multiple games have been posted on the video sharing website YouTube. Swallows were inaugurated into the game along its CAF Confederation Cup 2017 teams including Group B opponents MC Alger, CS Sfaxien and Platinum Stars.
It is the first time for a local club to be inducted into the popular game which is accessible through the internet.
This is not the first time Swallows has set high standards in the local football as they also became the first team to have a TV programme air on air our the red and white ensemble is definitely making waves and setting trends in local football.
The team’s General Manager Sandile Zwane said they were a first world oriented team which aligns itself with the Vision 2022 aspirations.
“As a team, we are humbled and delighted by the growth of the brand and induction into the software is a huge milestone. It is very rare, especially for a local club to make it into such platforms and our efforts to make the team a globally recognised brand are paying off. We would like to thank everyone contributed to the success of the team over the years and this is just a beginning of many good things to come,” he said. Mbabane Swallows are celebrating 70 years of existence and they have won multiple domestic titles over the years but their greatest highlight is undoubtedly reaching the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup last season, a milestone that none of the local clubs have reached.
The Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati led charges were also nominated as the best team in the recent CAF awards with the team’s goal poacher Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa nominated in the CAF Africa based Best Player.
