THE two police officers who died tragically on Wednesday when the water tanker truck they were travelling in plunged into a ditch next to Nazarene traffic lights have been identified.

The officers are Sergeant Nkululeko Dlamini and Sergeant Mavela Khumalo who were working under the Royal Swaziland Police legal department at the Police Headquarters.

The two officers were travelling towards Manzini when they met their untimely death. According to sources in the police service the shortage of cars within the service may have forced the two cops to use the available truck for an emergency. However, there are questions surrounding the truck usage since these officers were under the legal department.

Sergeant Dlamini was from Hlatsi in the Shiselweni Region while Khumalo from Siphofaneni.

When sought for comment Police Information and Communications Officer Khulani Mamba asked not to comment.
