NO FAVOURS FOR LANDERS - ERNEST

By Melusi Mlotsa | 2022-05-24

SOCCER - GREEN Mamba head coach Ernest Mavuso says they will be no favours for title chasers Mbabane Highlanders.

The soft- spoken mentor said this ahead of their crunch MTN Premier League clash against the capital city giants at Kalanga Stadium tomorrow.

Mavuso and his assistant Sandile Lulane were unceremoniously sacked by Mbabane Highlanders despite having led them to 10 matches unbeaten run in the MTN Premier League.

The capital city giants now found themselves in the mercy of Mavuso and Lulane to boost their chances of winning the tightly contested league, which they last won about 20 years ago.
Labelled a 'rented coach' by the team director Chief Ally Kgomongwe, the Green Mamba mentor said there was nothing personal as his boys would go out for a kill against the crowd pullers.  "They will be no favours for our opponents on Tuesday (tomorrow).

“We will treat Highlanders just like any other team. We know that we will be playing against a team that has the highest scoring rate.

“We are also looking for nothing else but three points just like them. I would also like to urge football lovers to come in their numbers to watch the best football at Ka Langa,” he said.
Mavuso added that that they might be without the services of playmaker Njabulo Thwala who has minor knocks. ‘Inyoka Eluhlazana’ is currently lying in ninth position in the MTN log standings with 36 points.  While on the other hand, the second placed Selaotse 'Sly' Mosala men will be hoping for a win to boost their title hopes in the current campaign.
