LITTLE INCWALA GAINS MOMENTUM AS IT ENTERS SECOND DAY

Ludzidzini The Little Incwala, which started on a high note on Saturday, gained momentum as it entered its second day yesterday. The second day of the Little Incwala saw more of Emabutfo (regiments) in a jovial mood as they joined His Majesty King Mswati III in dance at Ludzidzini Royal Residence.

The Little Incwala marks the beginning of the most celebrated traditional ceremony in the country, which has been observed for hundreds of years.

As the country is fighting the spread of COVID-19, the ministry of health personnel were at the Little Incwala, ensuring that those in attendance were tested for COVID-19 through the rapid test. Emabutfo were also afforded the opportunity to get vaccinated on site during the day.

It was announced last week that only vaccinated ones would be allowed to participate in the ceremony.

Expressed A lot of Emabutfo expressed joy in getting vaccinated before they could proceed to enter the cattle byre, where they sang and danced with His Majesty the King.

Spotted during the second day of the Little Incwala were top government officials, such as Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala and other cabinet ministers. Liqoqo Chairman Paul Dlamini was also among those who attended the second day of the Little Incwala.

The Little Incwala takes place before the main day, where Emabutfo will join their Majesties in dancing the Incwala. As part of the Little Incwala ceremony, His Majesty King Mswati III is expected to move to other Royal residences, which include Ngabezweni, Mbangweni and Buhleni.

After that, His Majesty is expected to commission Tingatja to cut the sacred shrubs (Lusekwane) before the main event, which usually attracts a number of Emaswati from all spheres, as well as people from outside the country.
