MTN ANNOUNCES SMAGAMAGA WINNERS

By Qondile Ntiwane | 2021-07-31

Close to 2 000 winners of the MTN Smagamaga 2.0 promotion have won prizes worth close to E300 000 between June and July 2021.

The three-month promotion started in May and will end in July, where the overall winner will pocket E200 000! The promotion features daily, weekly, and monthly prizes. About 305 customers have won random daily grocery hampers, while 1 220 have won 1GB daily data, 160 have won the weekly MTN MoMo worth E500, and four have won the E5 000 top four monthly prize. All these are prizes tally up to about E281 650.

The June monthly top four winners were Innocent Dvuba, Ndumiso Ndwandwe, David Mncina and Nontsikelelo Nkwanyana.

They were awarded their prizes on Tuesday at the MTN head office in Ezulwini.

One of the winners, Innocent Dvuba (35), revealed that he has never held, not to mention won, so much money before.

Dvuba, who hails from Mpuluzi, is currently employed by Rhodes Foods, previously known as Swazi Can in Malkerns.

“I have never had a sustainable job before. You can understand why I have never had so much money,” he reveals. He said this money would make a massive difference in his life as he provides some of the pressing needs for the mother of his three children. That is not all.

“I want to invest some of this money to develop my life. I am still weighing my options on the best investment that I may consider,” he said. Dvuba says he hopes to win the E200 000 grand prize because that can change his life instantly.

Nontsikelelo Nkwanyana (34) from Maliyaduma, also won E5 000, which brought massive relief as her work contract was not renewed in September last year.

Thereafter, she was out of work and depended on her husband.

“I have been struggling to adapt ever since I lost my job. It’s been tough that I am not able to help out my husband like I used to,” she said. Thankfully, in the middle of that hard time, she received an SMS about the promotion and decided to try it out because joining only costs 0.99 cents per day.

Win However, she was not expecting to win, let alone win E5 000.

“I still do not believe that I have won so much money after close to 10 months of not receiving any form of income,” she says. As the shock of her winning wore off, it became clear to her just what she had to do. After helping her family, her next treat was buying some of the things she could not buy in the past eight months. She further hopes to win the E200 000 grand prize to start a business and make a decent living.

David Mncina (63), a retired banker from Coates Valley said he joined the promotion because he was intrigued by the amount of general knowledge it provides as he now has a lot of time at his disposal after retirement.

“I decided to start playing after seeing an SMS and the game kept me captivated because I found out that I knew most of the answers to the questions.

I did not expect to win, I was just absorbed by the amount of knowledge I was gaining and the rest is history,” said Mncina. Mncina said he immediately started to think about the people with whom he would share the money with, “I thank MTN for this surprise. I will spend the money with my children.”

The last E5 000 winner Ndumiso Ndwandwe (45) from Mhlume said he acquired a piece of land at Sikhuphe and he plans to use his money to fence off that land. “I have set my eyes on the E200 000 grand prize because that can enable me to swiftly finish building a home for my family on this piece of land,” he stated.

To stand a chance to win with the MTN Smagamaga, SMS ‘JOIN’ to 7080 at 99 cents per day, and answer the daily quizzes. The weekly, monthly, and grand prizes are based on total points accumulated.
