By Qondile Ntiwane | 2021-05-06

It will be raining over E1million in prizes as MTN Eswatini celebrates a decade since the introduction of its flagship MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) product.

Apart from cash and data prizes, two customers will also stand a chance to walk away with a Nissan P200. Making the big reveal during the launch of the anniversary themed “Celebrating 10 Years of a MoMo way of life” held at the MTN Headquarter at Ezulwini yesterday was MTN Senior Manager Fintech Services Jordy Shiba, who said they had lined up a number of prizes that would cater for different stakeholders in the remaining eight months of 2021.

“The prizes will cater for different stakeholders; from businesses, merchants, agents and customers,” he said. To stand a chance to win businesses will have to register MoMo accounts and make sure to pay salaries through this account in order to stand a chance of winning E10 000.

“For businesses that will qualify, there will be a monthly draw and that lucky business will win E10 000,” The same amount has been set aside for merchants but with these stakeholders, we have divided them into three tiers because they are different in sizes. But even with the different tiers, the winners in the different categories will win E10 000,”he said.

Meanwhile MoMo agents in all four regions in the country stand a chance to win E5 000. “Because, we have four different regions in the country, there will be one winner per region every month.

Our customers will also get a chance to win cash prizes through the promotions we will have as we celebrate the anniversary.

This will include E1 000 weekly prizes,” he said. Explaining the big win, Shiba explained that to win the car, customers would have to make MoMo transaction of at least E200 a day to stand a chance to win the motor vehicles.

“Two lucky customers stand a chance to win these cars and all our customers have to do is to send at least E200 to someone per day.

The more one makes these transaction, the more they stand to win these cars,” he said.
