EWC’S ZODWA MAZIBUKO REBRANDS HER CAREER

By Njabulo Dlamini | 2020-08-12

VOCALIST and one time member of the Emmanuel Wesley Church (EWC) youth group Zodwa Mazibuko is in a reintegration and rebranding exercise aimed at resuscitating her career.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mazibuko has been unable to promote her latest album Indumiso, which has the popular single Simakadze.

As she rebrands, she says her fans and gospel music lovers at large should look forward to more collaborations with upcoming artists as she will ‘let the steam out her’.

“I’m going all out to release everything that’s inside of me. Fans should expect more quality music and more videos as Mr Mandela will help in broadening my reach and influence even in neighouring countries,” Mazibuko said.

Her new album has 10 Afro jazz as well as praise and worship songs.

“I’m now taking advantage of this pandemic to work on material for my new album. Gospel music producer and engineer Mandela (Sibusiso Mamba) assisted in registering my music online. This has increased my music’s mileage as the album will now be accessed by a broader audience.

“I plead with gospel music fans to support me through purchasing copies of the album in the market,” she said.

Besides self-composed tracks, the album also has well-known hymns like Onjengawe Jesu wami.

“My music has a different sound from customary gospel music. I appeal to my fans to SMS LEGMA Zodwa Mazibuko Best Traditional Gospel song to 6677. They should pick the song Simakadze from my album,” she added.

Some of the songs like ‘Jesus, Jesus’ were recorded by When Women Worship as Mazibuko is also a member of this ensemble.

The album was recorded at DemDem studio in Matsapha. It is now available on iTunes, YouTube, Spotify, Google Play, Amazon, Tidal, Shazam, Deezer, Pandora and other online platforms.
