Eswatini to learn a lot from Taiwan – Minister

meanwhile, Minister of Health Lizzie Nkosi said Eswatini would learn a lot from the Republic of China (Taiwan).

Nkosi said Taiwan showed robust approach to the global pandemic and Eswatini would  take a leaf from them. She said with Taiwan’s expertise, Eswatini would learn a lot in terms of facing and addressing the challenges brought by COVID-19.

Nkosi added that the experts would fill in the skills gaps that have been identified through improving clinical management of COVID-19 cases at Lubombo Referral Hospital and other centres through fine-tuning treatment protocols.

The experts will also train the COVID-19 team at Lubombo Referral hospital and other regional hospitals and advise the public health team to inform the direction of the COVID-19 response according to the evidence of cases confirmed daily.

She hailed the arrival of the experts and the equipment, saying it was on time. She went on to say that government of Eswatini was looking forward to working with the Taiwan experts to fine-tune the country’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and minimising deaths.

“The country continues to see the steep increase in number of COVID-19 cases.

The regional rapid response team continues to aggressively trace contacts of each and every one of the confirmed cases such that the majority of the cases confirmed are now contacts,” she said.
