UNITED HOLDINGS ACCELERATES FIGHT AGAINST CORONAVIRUS

By Qondile Ntiwane | 2020-04-12

United Holdings, through one of their subsidiaries United Life Assurance (ULA), has assured that all claims emanating from COVID 19-related illnesses will be settled as would any other legitimate claim.

The company, in a statement, said they were making every effort to ensure that their thousands of clients have a peace of mind during this bumpy period created by the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

The company has put in place a number of innovative interventions aimed at putting the lives of their customers at ease.

While openly declaring its full support for government’s efforts to combat the spread of this deadly pandemic, the company has leveraged on technology to ensure that its clients pay their premiums from the comfort of their homes.

“We promise our customers that if they keep their premiums up to date, we shall settle their claims as expected. We do not discriminate on the basis of the cause of death,” reads the statement.   United Holdings has four subsidiaries, which are United Life Assurance (ULA), United General Insurance (UGI), United Health Insurance (UHI) and United Pay (UP).

“Our customers now have less reason to visit our branches as we have uploaded our funeral insurance proposal forms onto the website.

Any person who needs to be covered can upload the form, fill it in and then send it to ula@united.co.sz. They will receive response within 12 hours,” reads a statement from United Holdings.

The company has further indicated that as of last month, they have extended the number of insurance premium pay-points to allow their clients to pay via MTN’s mobile money or Eswatini Mobile’s e-Mali.

“All efforts have been made to ensure that the process of honouring funeral claims remains as efficient as ever.

Even though most of our employees have been released to work from home, our claims department is available in the office. All funeral claims shall be settled within two hours of being submitted,” the company stated. The company added that as a business they have been distributing sanitisers to their clients so that they are protected during this discomforting time.

“We are ready to assist any of our customers to consult a doctor whenever it is necessary, particularly during this hectic period caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The company said it was working with government to ensure that its clients received the best care during this time.

“We remain fully committed to honouring our obligation of ensuring that our clients receive the best care in hospitals.”
