GOSPEL singer Phathwakahle will be dropping a new album after four years since releasing the last one.
Titled ‘Bayekele Bakhulume’, this would be her seventh album. This was revealed during her album launch held at Ezulwini on Saturday.
The artist has released six albums since the release of her first one in 2010. At the launch, Phathwakahle delivered a great performance, giving the audience a taste of her songs in the new album. As she was performing, the audience could not help but stand up and dance to almost every song.
Her new album was well received as the crowd sang along to some of the songs.
The environment was filled with happiness and joy. Some of the audience members said they were proud of Phathwakahle. It was definitely an emotional day for Phathwakahle as she cried when she realised the number of people who attended the launch.
support
During the launch, the singer would sing more than speaking, saying she would rather not say anything but just perform because she was overwhelmed by the support from her friends, family and fans.
Phathwakahle mentioned that she would be touring both South Africa and Eswatini, starting in South Africa.
The artist said she would officially launch the album in Eswatini on October 24, where she would tour all four regions.
“The project took long because we recorded songs in different studios and worked with different engineers from South Africa.
“We worked with Pastor Jabu Nkabinde, who is known to be recording South African gospel stars such as Rebecca Malope, Job Tacos works with Dr Tumi, in Eswatini we worked with Muzi from Dem Dem, ZiyawaKazitha, Sicelo and Sabelo,” she said.
She added that they took time with the project because she wanted it to be the best they ever made following the positive responses they have been getting for the previous albums.
“The turnout of the show left me humbled and at loss for words, you never say people love you and support you till you see them showing up and giving up their time for you.
“I am speechless, people turning out like this left me so overwhelmed, I am thankful,” she shared.
She shared that the story behind the album was a message of hope. “It is the word, it is God’s promise. No matter what, you should never give up because God will always be there. The album is also a message of encouragement,” she said.
