AKA CONFIRMS THE SPOTLIGHT SHUTDOWN PERFORMANCE

SOUTH African hip hop artist, AKA, has confirmed his scheduled performance for The Spotlight Shutdown concert to be held at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre on Saturday.

In a video released on The Spotlight official social media sites, the ‘Supa Mega’ encouraged Emaswati to make sure they buy tickets to The Spotlight Shutdown Concert and promised nothing but good vibes in the first coolest concert in Eswatini.

“Make sure you come and check me out at the Mavuso Trade Centre on November 23. Get your tickets ready, it is the MTN Spotlight Shutdown, come check me out, it’s going to be a vibe, see you soon,” he said in the video.

AKA would be sharing the stage with local artists including; Velemseni, Sands, Mozaik, Nomalungelo, The Spotlight Top three and Mdura.

MTN Senior Manager Consumer Meshack Maseko said they were expecting nothing but an epic night as they announce The Spotlight Season one winner.

“We encourage Emaswati to buy tickets and join us for an epic night as we will beannouncing the winner of the first season of the country’s biggest and brightest talent search and the coolest concert in the land,” he said.

Maseko said tickets were available through MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) and at selected MTN outlets; Bhunu Mall, Manzini, Moneni, Nkonyeni, Mbabane, Woodlands, Pigg’s Peak, Nhlangano, Matata, Big Bend, Simunye and Sikhuphe.

“To buy a ticket using MTN MoMo all you have to do is, dial *007*3*12#, select MTN Spotlight and then ticket type.

“Tickets cost E150 for adults and E80 if under 18 years. Make sure you get your ticket, and join us when we all hold our breath as The Spotlight first season winner is announced,” said Maseko. The Spotlight Shutdown Concert marks the end of the first season of The Spotlight, whose aim was to take unknown talent and turn it into a spotlight sensation.

Maseko said the competition gave unknown contestants the chance to sing their way into the hearts and homes of fans across the country.

Last Saturday, the competition got to the top three; Nsika Nsizakalo Mazibuko, Madoda Bongani_JR Nsibandze. “The battle for votes is not over yet. We encourage Eswatini to visit www.thespotlight.co.sz to cast their vote or SMS their favourite contestant number to 7768, or dial *7768 for bulk voting,” he said.

“You have a say in who will take home the first crown of The Spotlight through your votes, so make it happen. The Spotlight Shutdown Concert is almost upon us, so make sure you vote and crown your favourite contestant,” he further stated. The Spotlight is made brighter by MTN Eswatini. It is also supported by; Destiny Group, Eswatini Observer, Momentum, Kia Motors, Eswatini TV, Eswatini Broadcasting and Information Services (EBIS), Nandos, Cartrack, and Sibebe Resort.
