TEEN COMMITS SUICIDE IN LOVER’S HOUSE

By Sandile Nkambule | 2019-11-12

IT appears the Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence (SODV) Act does not deter some men from having sexual relations with younger girls in the kingdom.

In a rather shocking revelation, a teenage girl has ended her young life after  allegedly being impregnated by her sugar daddy, who further double-crossed her with other young girls of her age.

The shocking incident is said to have happened at Sidvokodvo in one of the housing units owned by Eswatini Railway.

According to well-placed sources, the man has been having an affair with the deceased for quite some time now before impregnating her.

Both the names of the deceased girl and that of the man have been deliberately withheld as the matter is still subject to police investigation.

When the Eswatini Observer team visited the small village yesterday morning, the news of the incident was talk of the community.

According to our sources, the man is known to be having intimate affairs with younger girls and the deceased is said to have not been aware of this.

The sources stated that upon finding out about the other relationships the man has with other girls of her age, she informed her friends that she was going to the man’s house situated within the compound.

It is alleged that she had decided to end her young life in order to register her discontent with what the man had done to her.

Thinking she was just hallucinating due to anger, her friends are said to have not taken her seriously, as they brushed it off.

However, on the fateful day about a week ago, the young girl is said to have indeed proceeded to the man’s house and registered her anger and threatened to kill herself, but was prevented from entering the house.

“She, however managed to gain entry into the house and proceeded to one of the rooms, where she drank a weevil tablet  and was later found vomiting due to the ingestion of the deadly tablet before she was rushed to the Raleigh Fitkin Memorial (RFM) hospital for treatment,” the sources said.

The sources further stated that the young girl, however succumbed to death while being treated as it was discovered that the deadly tablet had already taken its toll on her.

When sought for comment Chief  Police Information and Communications Officer (PICO) Superintendent Phindile Vilakati confirmed the suicide yesterday afternoon.

Superintendent Vilakati said Sidvokodvo police were still investigating the matter and confirmed that the girl died while undergoing treatment in hospital.
