BIRDS SACK KHAYA VILAKATI

By Sibusiso Masilela | 2019-09-21

SOCCER – Mbabane Swallows have reportedly sacked their Logistics Manager Khaya Vilakati for allegedly facilitating a farewell function for the former club Chairperson Prince Lungile.

The former Management Committee Chairman, Vilakati is said to have been shown the exit door on Thursday afternoon alongside Head of legal Affair Veli Malinga.  Malinga is alleged to have purchased the training equipment of the team in South Africa with head coach Honour Janza without the consent of the entire MC.

A source close to the matter revealed that their two officials are disappointed about their sacking since they were working towards the betterment of the team.

“The two officials have been sacked from the MC after they are said to have breached the team’s protocol.

This was after Vilakati organised a party which was aimed at honouring Make Gamedze last weekend during the FIFA break which failed to take place.

Malinga has been sacked for going to Durban with the head coach to purchase the outfit.

Painful

“This is very painful for the two officials as they have been sacked for serving the team by individuals who are power hungry1.,”

“The two officials are expected to appear before a disciplinary hearing on a date yet to be deliberated by the management committee,” the source said.  When sought for comment, Vilakati referred queries to the club’s Head of Communications Mancoba Mabuza yesterday.

“I can’t say anything please talk to the club spokesperson Mancoba Mabuza,” he said.   Malinga could not be drawn for comment on the matter by the time of compiling the report. Meanwhile, the team’s Head of Communications Mabuza said the matter was handled within the internal structures of the team.

“As a matter of policy, Mbabane Swallows’ internal disciplinary processes are treated with utmost confidentiality and professionalism, and are therefore not subject to publication.”  “We may only, upon consultation and ascertaining stakeholder interest (case by case basis) share an outcome of a particular disciplinary process for purposes of keeping our stakeholders in the picture of club developments. That is our principle. I hope this clarifies. Once again, thanks for contacting us.”
