OVER 120 COMPANIES NOMINATED FOR SERVICE EXCELLENCE AWARDS

Over 120 companies have been nominated in the 2019 Eswatini Service Excellence Awards slated for October 18.

The awards will form part of the Eswatini Customer Service week from October 11-18.

The nominees were released by the Chartered Institute of Customer Management (CICM) and the Institute of Research, Management and Development (IRDM) at their offices based in Mbabane yesterday.

Some of the companies that have been nominated are Molly’ s, Oxtail Pot, Ndlela Yekuphila and Umgcwembe under Proudly Swazi Restaurants.

In the fast foods category, Galitos Corner Plaza, KFC Mbabane, Spur Gables and Chicken Inn Matsapha have been nominated.

In the large corporations category TakaNgwane MTN, Montigny, CONCO and Tibiyo, will battle it out for the award, while Standard Bank, FNB, Nedbank and EswatiniBank will compete in the banking institutions award.

Retail stores Pick N pay Mahhala, Moneni Spar, OK Foods Mbabane and Spar Corner Plaza have been nominated under the retail grocery while Mr Price, jet, Woolworths and Truworths will compete in the clothing retail category.

CICM Country Representative and Eswatini Customer Service Week 2019 Chief Organiser Dr. Oliver Museka explained that nominees were determined by the public through physical and online surveys.

“The people of Eswatini have spoken and selected the brands which they believe have given them the best customer service over the past year. This year’s Eswatini Customer Service Week theme is ‘The Magic of Service’ that turns an unhappy customer into a satisfied customer and a repeat customer into an advocate,” he said.

He said the next process would include proof and verification of these nominations through mystery shopping.

“A team of adjudicators, three local and two international) will then finalise the winners that would be announced on the day of the awards dinner.

“As the Government of Eswatini works tirelessly to realise Vision 2022, business and industry are faced with opportunities to grow as the goal of attaining first world status draws nearer,” he said.

He further explained that there were a number of activities planned to celebrate the Eswatini Customer Service Week.

 “The main aim of these activities is to create a customer centric business environment in line with the strategic roadmap of Vision 2022. The first of these is a customer service march which will take place on October 4 in Mbabane. This will be followed by the Customer Experience Conference which will take place on 17 & 18 October 2019 then the awards dinner,” he said.

He mentioned that some of the speakers include international experts on Customer Services including Rod Jones and Dr Ingrid Mwanza while locals will see Daladi Dlamini, Ricardo Cruger, former winners of the awards and Ombudsday of Financial Services Nondumiso Simelane making presentations.
